Dr. Wyche was a gardener, seed preservationist, circus owner, and dentist from Hugo, Oklahoma. Wyche called this variety "Hot Yellow", but it was renamed for him after he passed away. Dr. Wyche was once a co-owner of the Cole Brothers Circus and used the manure of elephants to fertilize his heritage gardens.
